Building STI Capacity for Post-Pandemic Resilient Economy Development

2021 will be the year that governments prepare for the ‘new normal’ of life after COVID-19, which will require resilient social and economic systems. As the epidemic accelerates the use of digital technology, not only is it driving the concept of smart life, but companies are also accelerating digital transformation. Cloud, IoT, AI and 5G will be implemented in our daily life and meanwhile will have an impact on the overall economic development. In the future, we will see a series of highly autonomous robots, contactless technologies and AI in the supply chain, customer service and our daily life.
Meanwhile, the Workshop will focus on two points: 1) understanding the STI policies and strategies needed to ensure resilience and sustainability after COVID-19. 2) showcasing best practices of digitally-enabled recovery in the new normal. We look forward to working with our regional partners to accelerate economic recovery in the Asia-Pacific region.
