Amana Academy is celebrating 10 years strong by being part of the Roswell Youth Parade~we want YOU to join us! There will also be a Youth Festival at the parade end at Roswell Area Park that starts after the parade.
ARRIVAL TIME: 8:45-9:15 am on Mimosa Boulevard (Look for our float~a stack of books with a globe on top. Between the First Baptist Church and the Presbyterian Church). This parade waits for no one, so please make sure that you arrive early enough to find parking & find our float. There will be road closures~plan accordingly.
IMPORTANT INFO: K-2 MUST have an adult walking with them! There is no limit as to how many walkers we have~ the more the merrier! Walkers MUST sign in if they are NOT walking with a parent 3rd-8th. This is a youth centered parade and all walkers are expected to be handing out candy to the families watching the parade.
WHAT TO BRING:
•
One bag of candy per walker.
•
Wear your Amana Field Study shirt ~parents and friends please wear blue/green
YOUR SMILE!!!
WHERE TO PARK: Information regarding the parade & the parade route can be found here~
http://www.roswellgov.com/home/showdocument?id=1510A good place to park for drop off at the parade start would be the lots on either side of the Presbyterian Church (enter from Atlanta Hwy as Mimosa Blvd. will already be blocked off). Please bring your student to the float. K-2 students MUST have a parent walk with them.
We are hoping to have many parents and teachers walking the route with us (either on the sidewalk or behind the float). Parents who decide to meet us at the parade end (3-8th ONLY) should do so by the football fields in Roswell Area Park. So we suggest parking near the Park if you are just going to meet your student after the parade (3rd-8th ONLY). The Park will be closed off to traffic until approximately 11:30 AM so you don't want to park there unless you are willing to get there very early and walk to the parade start (well before 8 AM) and you are willing to stay late after the parade until they open the park back up to traffic). Roswell North Elementary or Crabapple Middle School are two nearby lots that are good places to try (remember that Woodstock Road will be blocked off between the Park and Canton Street before and during the parade).
If you leave your car by Mimosa Boulevard before the parade you will either need to walk back there after the parade or find a ride back to your car from someone parked at Roswell Area Park.
This is our first time at the ROSWELL YOUTH PARADE~we want to showcase Amana's BEST School Spirit. Students should be dressed in their Amana Field Studies shirt, ready to walk, toss candy to spectators & smile!!!
WE ARE Crew....NOT PASSENGERS!!!!
Thank you to those who attended our Float Building~YOU are appreciated!!!
