Show your support for a cleaner, more vibrant, and healthier Breton Bay by joining us on September 12 for our fourth annual Breton Bay Oyster Planting!
Saturday, September 12 at 10 am (rain date: Sunday, September 13 at 10 am) join the St. Mary’s River Watershed Association and Friends of St. Clements Bay at Abell's Wharf to plant a million baby oysters in the Breton Bay Oyster Sanctuary.  Bring your friends and join the fun!

Volunteers are required to wear closed toed shoes and a life jacket. We will have extra life jackets, but please bring your own if you can.

We will unload 200 bushels of spat-on-shell (baby oysters) from trucks, load them onto work vessels, and transport the oysters by boat to their new home at Lover’s Point.

Please invite your friends, family, and neighbors.

Are you able to help load the oysters for transport to Breton Bay at 8 am on September 12? Volunteers will be in the water moving bags of oysters (likely containing critters like eels, crabs, and jellyfish) from pallets in the water in front of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland River Center onto trailers. Water shoes, long pants, and long sleeves are required. You will get wet during this activity. Depending on the tide, the water could be as high as your chest.
