20-24 teenagers will be selected to participate in an intense one-year experience in which they will meet approximately every other Sunday to build relationships across communal boundaries and learn communication and conflict resolution skills. Students will learn from a variety of communal leaders throughout the fall semester how Muslim and Jewish organizations respond to important social issues. During the spring semester, students will then develop their own joint Muslim-Jewish response to a social issue they deem most important. Upon completion of the fellowship, council members will be bestowed with a certificate from the City of Los Angeles in appreciation of their willingness to move beyond differences and contribute to improving inter-group relations in Los Angeles.
We are interested in applicants with demonstrated leadership skills who will also grow through our program. We accept applications and nominations for students who will be entering 10th-12th grades for the 2016-17 school year. Students of high school age who have started Community College are also encouraged to apply.
Thank you for your interest in our program!
