ArtBridge is looking to hire 6 residents and/or community organizers of the Mitchel Houses (NYCHA) for the Community Liaison Position. Starting early May, each person selected for this position will work 25 hours over the course of 10 weeks and will receive a stipend of $450.
Community Liaisons will participate in the Bridging the Divide - NYCHA Public Art Program-- taking on leadership roles to guide and support two emerging artists who will be creating large community-based murals for the Mitchel Houses. Artists and Community Liaisons will work together to develop artist-led workshops for the neighborhood's residents, including but not limited to: senior citizens, young adults, and youth.
Artists, Community Liaisons, and the ArtBridge team will have weekly virtual meetings (online and/or phone calls) and occasional in-person meetings (outdoors and socially-distanced, according to COVID-19 guidelines). This position is planned to begin early May.
