When: Oct 4 Jersey city. Oct 5 Brooklyn
Where: Brooklyn & Jersey City
Calling all pole dancers (this includes sex workers and strippers)! I'm working on a project and would like you to be a part of it!
This project is aimed at putting a different perspective on pole dancing both in the shapes that are often seen and the public perception. I want to expand the audience of pole via this very free, light imagery. I stumbled on this shape while working with my friend Casey Urban and I love it so much because I really don't know any other apparatus that will let you get an image like this without additional background body parts, rigging in the shot, or extreme editing.
I've been meaning to make this into a series for YEARS and just keep putting it off. Well this year is the year.
I will be hosting this in two locations on two separate days - one in NJ and one in Brooklyn.
Requirement: Must be able to climb, invert into a shape similar to the images below, and hold for 15 second intervals on spinning pole - and must sign a photography waiver / image release form.
Q: How long is each session?
A: Each person will get 15 minutes. The starting focus will be this specific image, and after that if there's time we can do some other poses. As a pole enthusiasts myself, I'm aware of how tiring this can be. I do not expect you to be upside down or aerially on the pole for 15 minutes straight.
Q: When will I receive my photo edits?
A: Photos for this series may take some time and ideally are not published publicly for a little while. I will be organizing something larger later (think gallery)
Q: How much does this cost?
A: This is free for all selected participants. Please be respectful of my time as I will be covering the rental fees etc. I will also provide snacks and water for folks
Q: Is this Indoor or Outdoors?
A: This will be Outdoors
Q: What should I wear?
A: Anything you want - However, I am not going for nudity in this series. I do think hair volume is going to be important - so the more volume you have, the better.
Q: Can I see more of your work as a photographer?
A: Of course! Check out here!
Q: How do I submit for consideration?
A: Please complete the form
