Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Meals On Wheels Santa Barbara. We are seeking volunteers who are available in the morning and can commit to at least six (6) months. As a volunteer driver, you'll pick up freshly prepared meals from the Meals On Wheels car line at Valle Verde Retirement Community between 9:30 am and 10:00 am. Drivers typically spend about an hour delivering meals and engaging with clients - it's a great way to make a difference!
If a weekly commitment doesn't quite work for you, no worries! You can team up with other drivers to share a route or jump in as a substitute driver whenever you're available. We also have a dedicated team of substitute drivers who are ready to step in when regular drivers are on vacation or unavailable. We arrange for substitutes to cover for you.
Before you get started, you'll have a chance to do a ride-along to see what the role is all about and make sure it's a right fit for you.
