CoMHWA is committed to developing and supporting Consumer Advisory Groups, drawing on the knowledge of passionate consumer representatives/advocates with experience in those roles. In addition to our first ‘Consumer Advised Systemic Advocacy Meetings’ (CASAM) group, CoMHWA has created a separate group consisting of only representatives from regional, rural or remote locations in order to provide region-specific insight into CoMHWA's systemic advocacy priorities. The new group is to be called ‘Peer-led Regionally Informed Systemic Advocacy Meetings’ (PRISAM).
PRISAM meets regularly (for two hours once every month) to discuss and take action on current issues in systemic advocacy - meetings will be held via Microsoft Teams and themed around contemporary issues discovered by CoMHWA, or recommended directly by PRISAM and other CoMHWA members. If you are interested in joining CoMHWA's PRISAM, please leave your details and a short description of why you'd like to join.
PRISAM only has space for 10 members, and we often receive a lot of interest for membership to our consumer reference groups. Because of this, it helps to be as detailed as possible when stating why you'd like to join and what you believe would make you a good member. Listing any previous systemic advocacy work you've done in the past is also very helpful for us to know.
