South Baltimore Little League Managers & Coaches - Please Read
Being a manager and a coach requires time, patience, and basic knowledge of the game of baseball. Informed managers and coaches attend meetings, instructional sessions, and safety clinics. Managers will communicate with the parents/guardians of your players to inform them of practices, schedule changes, rain outs, enforce parking rules and Little League events and activities. You may delegate these task to another coach on your team. You will also attend evaluations for your division and attend the scheduled draft to pick your team.

As a coach you have more interaction with young people than anyone else in Little League. Therefore, it is important that you understand the goals and virtues of the Little League program in order to effectively communicate them to your players. Attending meetings allows you to understand the goals of the League. All managers and coaches will need to submit and pass a background check if you are new or returning to our league.

Managers and Coaches are required to maintain equipment and the fields or to delegate this task to a coach on your team. Field maintenance requires lining fields before games, raking dirt and mending holes in the dirt. You will also be required to turn in line up sheets, scores and pitch counts if they apply after each game. Managers and coaches are well informed of Little League rules and local rules. They are expect to follow and enforce these rules.

Each team gets one manager and three coaches. A team parent can be added to the team to help meet the required tasks.
