Interested in a summer internship in Italy with paid airfare and housing, and a small stipend? You would join a musical company and perform in their Greek-mythology-inspired modern show (Il Risveglio degli dei/The Reawakening of the Gods) presented in the enchanted archeological site of the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento (region of Sicily). This coming March, attend a preparation workshop led by composer and company director Marco Savatteri, and audition to be selected for this unique summer opportunity (flexible dates). Open to Montclair State University students only.
Presentation/info session (optional): Friday March 21 Friday March 21 10-10:30 AM and then again 11am-12noon in Leshowitz Hall (10:35-10:45AM in a class held in Life Hall 02000)
Audition: Thursday March 27 2-4PM (Leshowitz Hall, Cali School)
Workshop: Thursday March 27 4-6PM (G55, Cali School)
or the audition, be prepared to:
Sing a song (possibly but not necessarily) in Italian (1-2 mins, ideally the finale of a song)
Sing a favorite song in any language, possibly pair it with dance/movement (1-2 mins)
Complete an exercise based on instructions provided by Marco Savatteri on the spot
For the workshop:
Choose a character from Greek mythology and pair it with any type of music you feel comfortable with in expressing that character as you move in space (no acting and no singing involved)
