<b>Provide free income tax return assistance and help return thousands of dollars to the people who need it the most</b>
Be an intake specialist, assist clients in filing taxes, review documents for quality or help out in other ways with VITA, the local free tax assistance sites for people who make less than $51,000 per year. Save people hundreds of dollars in fees and ensure they receive the maximum refund. Attend volunteer training on Dec. 2 from 7-8:30pm.

<b>Be a Bell Ringer and raise $$ for our community's most in need</b>
On Fri. Dec. 5th staff a Salvation Army red kettle in downtown Staunton (just a few blocks from campus) and raise much needed funds for members of our community who need it the most. Students needed to work one hour shifts.

<b>Be a technology trainer to adults and youth</b>
Train individual youth and adults as well as small groups on basic computer use at the Waynesboro Area Learning and Technology Center. Gain experience presenting, facilitating and communicating. www.waltlearning.org. MBC students needed soon!

<b>Create special scenes for a Special Olympics Dance</b>
On Dec. 13 students are needed to create some temporary scenes for a Special Olympics dance where athletes can pose in front of to take photos. Assisting with lighting is also needed.

<b>Serve in a variety of ways at Staunton City Schools</b>
Be a homework tutor, work with small groups of students, help during lunch time, be a reading buddy, create learning materials and so much more. Staunton City Schools works with your interests and talents to find the best fit for you to assist in the schools.

<b>Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities to play basketball</b>
Work with the Special Olympics (http://sova5.org/) to teach, interact, and become a friend of individuals with intellectual disabilities how to better their performance on the basketball team. Requires some knowledge of basketball, love for working with children, understanding, compassion, and patience. Season runs from Jan. 18-Mar. 15, 2015.

<b>Be a marketing intern</b>
Complete a market study of Staunton/western Augusta County for Staunton Senior Center (SSC: http://www.stauntonseniorcenter.org/) and create a marketing plan for SSC. Conduct market research, collect and analyze data, and develop a few programs.

<b>Greet visitors to an art gallery and more</b>
Welcome visitors to the Smith Center for Art and History (http://www.rrsmithcenter.org/), educate them about the art gallery (http://saartcenter.org/), help them find their way, prepare mailings and provide oversight of the entrance area.

<b>Provide after-school support to elementary kids</b>
Do crafts, help with homework and be a friend every other Wednesday at the Farrier Court Afterschool Program (3:30-4:45pm). Coordinated by Blue Ridge Church of Christ (with support from the Office on the Youth). All snacks and activities are planned, but MBC students are needed to help. Transportation may be available.

<b>Help people that are homeless</b>
Work with the Valley Mission to help the homeless population. Tutor/mentor for after school program (M-TH 3-5pm); tutors for computer lab (T 3:30- 4:30pm); or front office help (daily 9:00am- 1:00pm).

<b>Support Creative Works Farm and Camp Light</b>
Assist with organizing the Zombie 5K fun run, searching for grants, and planning summer camp programs. http://creativeworksfarm.org/
