Make a home safe, warm, and dry. This Sat. Oct. 3
Install a water heater, clean up trash, and perform odd jobs to help a homeowner stay in her house. Work with Renewing Homes this Sat. Oct. 3 from 8:15am-5pm and do critical work for a homeowner unable to perform needed home maintenance.
Provide critical administrative support downtown
Help CASA for Children with a wide range of projects including spreadsheets, editing video, clerical support, etc.
Be a special event supporter
The ARC of Augusta on Thur., Sept. 24 from 6-8pm is co-hosting a Legislative Forum at Blue Ridge Community College focusing on Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities legislation. On Fri. Sept. 25 the ARC is hosting a 5K fundraiser at Barren Ridge Winery from 5-7pm. Direct traffic, distribute water to runners, and assist at the finish line.
Provide office assistance
Work in an office downtown supporting Mental Health America- Augusta. Monday-Thursday.
Greet visitors to an art gallery and more
Help the Staunton Augusta Art Center to welcome the public coming into the Smith Center, to orient visitors to the Smith Center, to enlighten visitors about ongoing exhibits, to serve as an ambassador of the resident organizations and of the City of Staunton from 10am-5pm M-F and 10am-4pm Sa.
Maintain a garden
Volunteers are needed for Staunton Senior Center/VPAS throughout the fall and spring to keep the garden area free of weeds and to do other gardening as suggested/desired 1 - 2 hours weekly M-F 9-5pm. Walking distance from campus.
Assist individuals with disabilities to play volleyball
On Sun. Oct. 11 work with the Special Olympics (http://sova5.org/) to teach, interact, and become a friend of individuals with intellectual disabilities participate in a volleyball team scrimmage. Located at Augusta County Gym in Fishersville (in front of Wilson Memorial High School).
