Serve a Downtown Food Pantry
Central United Methodist Church is looking for 4-5 students to help with their food pantry on Feb. 24 from 9:30-11:30am. Help prepare food for clients to pick up. Walking distance from campus.

Volunteer to be part of Summer Camp LIGHT
For at least a period of four weeks be a Summer Camp Counselor, Volunteer Intern, and provide assistance with program development such as making music with unconventional materials, aquatic therapy, anti-bullying message, as well as building upon existing programs

Be a Greeter/Check-in person for VITA
Welcome potential clients when they enter, review a checklist with the client to ensure that they have all the materials needed so a return can be prepared. and be there for clients as they wait to be seen by volunteer preparer from February 16-April 5 every Tuesday and Friday from 3-6pm in the Nuthouse/Spencer Center.

Serve as a YVC (Youth Volunteer Corps) Team Leader
The Staunton Y is seeking MBC students to help with its new launch this year. It intends to involve 11-18 year old the opportunity to gain skills and improve their world through volunteering in their community and having them learn about service from M-T 5:30am-10pm, Friday 5:30am-9pm, Saturday 7am-7pm and Sunday 1pm-7pm.

Greet visitors to an art gallery and more
Help the Staunton Augusta Art Center to welcome the public coming into the Smith Center, to orient visitors to the Smith Center, to enlighten visitors about ongoing exhibits, to serve as an ambassador of the resident organizations and of the City of Staunton from 9am-5pm M-F and 10am-4pm Sat.

Help produce Staunton Stories
On Mar. 19 the community will be invited downtown to share memorabilia and stories about their life and personal history in Staunton. Students are needed from 9am-3:30pm (lunch provided) at the R. R. Smith Center downtown to help record, scan, digitize, register, greet and host attendees. You must attend the volunteer orientation on Fri. Mar. 18 from 7-9pm also at the Smith Center.

Be a year-round intern with Renewing Homes
Renewing Homes Greater Augusta is seeking a student with a car who can commit to working 1-2 hours a week for a whole year to do: Project management, client Management, surveying clients, on-site work with volunteer crews, and project planning.

Promote Habitat for Humanity
Market the Women's build project, update social media, and assist with fundraising efforts. Must have experience with social media and marketing.

Host kids attending field trips @ Creative Works Farm
Make learning fun by assisting with hands-on nature exploration and environmental education for local elementary school aged groups. Field trips are tentatively scheduled for April.

Assist in the Staunton City Schools Human Resources Office
Provide clerical assistance to the staff. Downtown--within easy walking distance of campus.

Sing during lunch for a soup kitchen
Entertain guests during lunch at a downtown soup kitchen.

Serve at the Augusta Regional SPCA
Work with animals in need of forever homes and/or assist with fund-raising and special events. Must complete volunteer application and two-hour orientation and serve at least 4 hours per month.

Be a math and reading tutor to an 8th grader
Meet in either Grafton Library or the Staunton Public Library just off campus. The mother of the 8th grade boy will meet with the MBC student for the first meeting.

Tutor high school students seeking to improve academic performance
Work with OCAT (One Child at a Time) to assist high school students with homework and teach them key concepts in certain subject. Indicate subject area interest.

Provide critical administrative support downtown
Help CASA for Children with a wide range of projects including spreadsheets, editing video, clerical support, etc.

Provide office assistance
Work in an office downtown supporting Mental Health America- Augusta. Monday-Thursday.

Maintain a garden
Volunteers are needed for Staunton Senior Center/VPAS throughout the fall and spring to keep the garden area free of weeds and to do other gardening as suggested/desired 1 - 2 hours weekly M-F 9-5pm. Walking distance from campus.
