FURS 2024 Volunteer Form - Judges, Moderators, and General Volunteers!
A brief description of the Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium -

The symposium is an event where undergraduates from the central Texas area can present their research in 8 minute presentations or 3 minute Science Slams.

Undergraduate judges will evaluate the presenter's science communication skills, while graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty will evaluate the quality of the research. General volunteers will assist with logistical tasks on the day of the symposium, such as taking pictures, carrying forms between rooms, and more. Moderators are responsible for ensuring that rounds take place smoothly and timing presentations.

FURS will take place in person on October 5th, 2024 from 11am to 4:30pm in the lower level of Patton Hall.

Please let us know if you'd like to be a judge, moderator or a general volunteer! You can select more than one if you like and we will put you where you are most needed. You will be notified regarding which shift you have in the week before the symposium. Current freshman are welcome to volunteer but cannot be a judge. We are mostly seeking faculty, graduate students, or upperclassmen undergraduates with research presentation experience as moderators.

Judges and moderators will be required to attend a training session. Training sessions will be held in late September.
