Art Awards Entry Form
Award Winners will be announced at the Awards Night on Monday 12 September 2016. Winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced at the Festival Finale on Sunday 18 September 2016.

Location of Awards Evening and Exhibition: Broome Civic Centre.

All Artworks qualify for the following categories:

1. Applications Close on Friday 12 August 2016 at 5pm and no late registrations will be accepted. All artists MUST provide artwork information prior to this date to be included in the catalogue of artworks for the Art Awards.
2. The Shinju Matsuri Art Awards are open to bona fide residents (6 months) of Broome and the Kimberley.
3. All entries must be the original work of the artist and have been completed within the last 12 months, and not entered in any previous art awards.
4. An agent may enter on behalf of an artist and receive any award, provided that there is evidence of agency and artist engagement.
5. Each work can be entered into one category only, one entry per artist.
6. The entry fee is $35 including GST and is non-refundable.
7. All work must be suitably presented for display with fittings attached ready for hanging or standing as applicable.
8. All 2D works are restricted to MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS (including frame) 180cm x 120cm.
9. All 3D works are restricted to Maximum Dimensions of Width 150cm x Depth 150cm. There is no height restriction however the work must be able to be moved into the civic centre without mechanical assistance.
10. Each entry must be clearly marked with completed details attached to the back of the artwork, using forms supplied.
11. Entry must be declared through a completed Entry Form.
12. All works must be for sale. If the winning entry of the Shire of Broome Acquisitive Art Prize is valued in excess of the prize amount, $8,000, the artists shall accept the prize money only.
13. All care will be taken with entries, but Shinju Matsuri Inc. and the Shire of Broome are not responsible for damage or loss. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
14. The artist agrees that the organisers reserve the right to take photographs of exhibits for reproduction or publicity purposes. The winner retains copyright of the work but acknowledges the right of Shinju Matsuri Inc. and the Shire of Broome to reproduce the winning artworks in any medium for the sole purpose of promoting Shinju Matsuri Inc. or the Art Awards and Acquisitive Prize.
15. It is recommended that you photograph your work prior to entering, in the event of it being sold.
16. Works may not be removed from the exhibition until the end of the advertised exhibition period.
17. All entries are to arrive free of freight costs and return the same way. Shinju Matsuri Inc. is not responsible for any delivery or return freight charges.
18. Artwork MUST arrive at the Broome Civic Centre on Friday 9 September between 10am and 1pm, and MUST be picked up on Monday 19 September between 1pm and 5pm.
19. Shinju Matsuri Inc. reserves the right to not display any work that is likely to incite racial, religious, cultural or sexual offence, promotes illegal activities or is likely to cause the Shinju Matsuri Inc. Board, and/or employees, affiliates or sponsors to be joined in libel or other criminal or civil action.
20. Late entries will not be accepted.
21. The final Retail Sale Price will be set by Shinju Matsuri Inc. to include a 20% Commission to Shinju Matsuri Inc., + GST.
22. In entering the Art Awards the artist agrees to have their artwork displayed for sale on the Shinju Matsuri website up until the festival and for an additional 3 weeks. Artists can choose to leave their work online until sold or until the following Art Award.
23. For an additional $10 the artist may list another artwork for sale, to be sold including a 20% commission. This artwork must be an original from the artist.
24. Shinju Matsuri Inc. endorses the right of the judge to withhold prizes.
25. The judge’s decision of the winning entries is final.
26. In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation of conditions, the decision of Shinju Matsuri Inc. is FINAL.
