2014 NAPABA Convention Volunteer Application Form

WHAT IS THE NAPABA CONVENTION?
The 26th Annual NAPABA Convention will be in Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ from November 6-9, 2014. We expect to attract over 1,500 APA attorneys, including general counsel of Fortune 1000 companies, federal and state judges, and law professors from across the country. The Convention, themed “Convergence: Collaborating for a Grand Tomorrow,” will feature programing that celebrates the diversity and unity of NAPABA.

VOLUNTEERS
Without all the work, support, and dedication of our volunteers, we could not have a successful Convention. We are accepting applications for volunteers now through Friday, September 19, 2014. Priority may be given to those who apply early. Please note that filling out the application form below does NOT guarantee a spot on the volunteer team.

Volunteers will assist with registration, set-up, break-out panels, checking in attendees for CLE credit, receptions, VIPs and hosting the Saturday evening gala dinner, among other activities.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR VOLUNTEERS AT THE CONVENTION?
Volunteers will be scheduled at least eight hours (one eight-hour shift or two four-hour shifts) during the Convention. Volunteers are also required to attend a volunteer orientation prior to the Convention. We will need volunteers at various times from Wednesday, November 5 through Sunday, November 9. If you are unable to commit to working at least eight hours at the Convention, you may still be able to volunteer, but will not receive the benefit of waived registration.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING?
Volunteering at least eight hours will entitle you to complimentary general admission registration to attend the Convention, where attorneys can forge and strengthen relationships, develop your professional skills, and promote your firm or organization. Students will have the opportunity to work closely with practicing attorneys and other law students from the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and across the country. You can polish your networking skills, make new friends, expand your contacts, and informally seek valuable mentoring and career advice. The general admission registration includes a seat to the Saturday night Installation Banquet.

Confirmed volunteers will be given a promotion code to input into the online Convention registration form to waive the registration fee. In order to receive the registration waiver code, volunteers must first provide credit card information to NAPABA and agree to be charged the early bird registration fee if they do not serve at least eight volunteer hours at the Convention (Attorney: $595; Government/Judges/Public Interest: $325; Student: $150).

HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Complete the volunteer application form by Friday, September 19, 2014. Selected volunteers will be contacted by email to each as soon as possible after the September 19th deadline. Volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation prior to the Convention.
