Blackboard 101 with Matt Fox
This workshop will look at Blackboard and how to keep up to date with using the platform for your classes.
Blackboard Adaptive Release with Matt Fox
Blackboard Adaptive Release provides controls to release content to users based on a set of rules provided by the Instructor. The rules may be related to availability, date and time, individual users and user groups (such as course Groups), scores or attempts on any Gradebook item, or review status of another item in the course.  We will explore this unique feature and how you can use to fit your needs.
Blackboard Grade Center with Matt Fox
Looking for a way to keep all your students’ grades organized and easily accessible? Use Blackboard’s built-in Grade Center to store, calculate, and manage grades for your courses! Grade Center also allows students to track their progress through the course using MyGrades. You will learn how to create grading columns and assign weights to different categories for calculating final grades, which can then be automatically sent to the Student Information System (SIS).
Editing your NOVA Faculty WordPress website with Art Lin
NOVA has provided a template for faculty and staff to set up a WordPress-based website. This training will teach you how use the NOVA WordPress template to create your own website. An example can be seen at: http://blogs.nvcc.edu/aanderson/. One benefit of setting up a WordPress-based website is that you can do it without using any web-authoring tool. This training will teach you how to use the NOVA WordPress template to start your own site.
Embracing your Tablet/iPad in instruction with Matt Fox
Learn about some cool apps and features that can help you better use your portable device.
'Flipping' your class with Lori Campbell and Matt Fox
Learn about flipping your class: using short videos (3-5 min) to discuss a topic outside of class and then using class time to address deep level material in an individual or group setting. Flipping consists of active and engaged learners and allows them to apply knowledge they learned during class time.

This workshop will allow us to explore Web 2.0 tools that will enhance your instructional experience inside and out of the classroom.
SMARTboard with Lori Campbell
This workshop will allow you to make your SMARTboard a useful, interactive learning tool in your classroom.  We will go over the basic functions of a SMARTboard, exposure to Notebook software, and how to incorporate the use of the SMARTboard with PowerPoint effectively.
