The Amazing Diversity of Fishes
Dr. Phil Hastings, Marine Biologist

Fish showed up in the fossil record about 500 million years ago, and today, they are the most diverse group of vertebrate animals on the planet. Phil Hastings, Scripps Professor, and Curator of the SIO Marine Vertebrate Collection, will discuss the global diversity of fishes and will be available to sign his recently published book Fishes: A Guide to Their Diversity (University of California Press, http://www.ucpress.edu/book.php?isbn=9780520283534).
