This survey is an anonymous measure of the perceptions of local Eastern Shore schools. This data is not being collected by any local school system. It is being collected by a local community group in an effort to analyze the perceptions of our local schools by staff, parents, and community members.
We had no idea that when we floated this little survey out there it would quickly go viral and stir up such emotion. We would like to continue to collect honest feedback from the Eastern Shore community about the state of education. It has come to our attention that many of the comments personally attack specific individuals by name. People are also repeatedly accessing the results by going to the survey and clicking submit without actually answering the questions. This is throwing off the response numbers. While we believe that this is an important conversation to be had publicly, we want to be responsible in the way that we collect and share the data.
Please continue to take the survey and share your opinions. Try to avoid naming individuals in your comments. We may reopen access to the results after removing the names of specific individuals. We are not trying to prevent this important conversation from happening. We are simply trying to make sure that it isn't used to create more hostility than already exists. We'd also like to hear about any positive experiences that people have.
Thank you for your interest in the quality of education on The Eastern Shore. It is encouraging to know that so many people want what is best for all of the children on The Eastern Shore.
