This program was started last year with 15 bicycles at St. Mary's School in Nambale, Kenya. Many students walk great distances, often 10 kilometers, to and from school. Their families are subsistence farmers often living on less than $1/day. Time saved walking can be used for studying and helping their families. Students who are borrowing bicycles have been tardy less and have improved their attendance and grades.
