HCC Community Based Learning newbie Faculty Fellows Program Request FOR PROPOSALS

This professional development opportunity for faculty exists to support the creation of a CBL component to a new or existing course.  At the core of this work, projects (big and small) emanate from community needs and knowledge while also being guided by course materials.  Self reflection of all members of the process (community, faculty and students) becomes critical to the development of this work. Faculty receive a course reassignment or stipend to develop a community based learning project for a course in a cohort setting over the course of year.

CBL Fellows Program will now run on a yearly schedule with 6 faculty fellows planning every Fall and then implementing the following Spring.

Deadline for yearly proposals will now be the 4th Friday in March.

For 2025, the deadline is March 22 at 4pm.

I commit to having students do PRE & POST program surveys about CBL in my classes.  [This material will be sent to you by the CBL coordinator at the beginning of the semester and at the end for inclusion in your Canvas shell.  Having them as low stakes assignments in the course ensures successful completion for most.]
