Watershed Congress Student Facilitator Application 2014
The Watershed Congress Planning Committee is now accepting applications for Student Facilitators for our 2014 program.
Watershed Congress Information
The Watershed Congress has evolved over 15 years to advance the best available information and techniques for protecting and restoring watersheds. The focus on networking across disciplines means that Watershed Congress melds science, policy and practical applications into one program. Every year, a growing and changing group of individuals attends the Congress to gain new knowledge, acquire tools, and practice techniques that will allow them to take active roles in the stewardship of their natural resources. Every year, the Watershed Congress program includes a keynote panel discussion, concurrent session, poster and exhibits by watershed organizations, environmental consulting firms and government agencies. Watershed Congress participants hail primarily from Pennsylvania, but New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland are regularly represented as well. New York and Virginia have occasionally been represented among our audience.
What is a Watershed Congress Student Facilitator?
During the Watershed Congress, concurrent sessions are presented in classrooms to small groups ranging from 20 to 40 participants. Concurrent sessions are led by Student Facilitators who help to keep the program running smoothly. The Watershed Congress Planning Committee offers these roles first to college students in the region with the goal of introducing students to watershed issues, the Congress event, and encouraging them to consider becoming presenters in the future. The Student Facilitator opportunity is not a paid position, but those selected will receive free attendance to the Watershed Congress. In addition, the Student Facilitator role allows opportunities for networking with professionals in the environmental field.
The application deadline for is Friday, February 7th.
