INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL SARAJEVO 15 YEAR ALUMNI CONFERENCE: ”The Role of Transitional Justice Today: What Lesson Can Be Drawn to Prevent Future Conflicts and to Assist Societies After Conflict".

Dear ISSS Alumni,

We would like to extend an invitation to participate in the Alumni Conference on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the International Summer School Sarajevo project.

Rule of Law Program South East Europe Konrad- Adenauer- Stiftung and Association “Pravnik” continue to work to promote transitional justice in democratic development of the countries of South East Europe. Over the years we have made a significant contribution and have organised 15 international summer schools, published 15 volumes of the Journals, organised 3 regional and 2 national schools on transitional justice, supported research on transitional justice for a total of over 800 participants from over 70 countries of the world. This was all thanks to your enthusiasm and support over the years. We are very proud to have had the opportunity to meet you after the ISSS at our first two alumni events, as lecturers at the ISSS or just for drinks.

ISSS Alumni Conference represents a unique event for all former ISSS participants to get together and address challenges in transitional societies as a driving force in their respective counties as members of academia, NGOs, international organizations, governmental structures etc.

The alumni conference is an event which focuses on the amazing work of you the ISSS alumni. As a result the conference is structured in 6 panels where you will have a chance to present your work. The topics of the panels will be decided based on your abstracts but we generally aim at panels which contribute to the central topics of the Alumni Conference which is: The Role of Transitional Justice Today: What Lesson Can Be Drawn to Prevent Future Conflicts and to Assist Societies After Conflict. We will appreciate if you could draw on your research and professional experience to share your findings which will be an interactive event.

Conference registrations are due by May 31, 2022. Please note that number of participants is limited. Therefore, applications will be accepted on rolling basis: “first- come, first served”. Applicants with accepted abstracts will be prioritized.
