What did you find most frustrating about learning HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Python, Ruby, Sinatra, Flask, PHP, AngularJS, NodeJS, BackboneJS, Wordpress development, Ruby on Rails, SQL, Objective-C, etc.?

Setting up the development environment

Figuring out what to do after getting stuck (as a beginner)

Figuring out how to apply what was written in books to practical projects I wanted to build

Figuring out object-oriented programming

Have you ever gotten stuck in the middle of an online tutorial or an MOOC course? If so, what did you do?

Yes - and I searched online for solutions

Yes - and I stopped progressing with the course

Yes - and I got help from a friend, mentor, or co-worker who answered my questions

No - but I also just didn't have time to finish the course

Examples: Codecademy, Code School, Treehouse, One Month (Rails), Learn Python the Hard Way, Udacity, Coursera, Harvard EDX, O'Reilly book, Nodeschool.io, Official Documentation That Was Hard To Understand, Popular Technical Blog Post That Didn't Make Sense In Some Parts, etc.

What resources have you found most helpful in helping you get past speed bumps (e.g. when you're having trouble understanding a concept, or when something isn't working)?

Meetups like Hacker Hours or Code Crew where I can get help from more experienced developers in the particular technology I'm learning

Professional co-workers

Coding bootcamp instructors

Coding bootcamp peers

Re-reading or re-watching the tutorial more closely a second time

Asking on stackoverflow

Finding the answer on stackoverflow

Taking a break from the code and then coming back to it

Talking to my rubber duck

Pair programming with another person who's learning the same thing

Personal friends or family members who are experienced in X technology
