The Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health Roundtable and the MNCH Legislative Working Group are excited to announce that Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) have introduced the bipartisan Reach Every Mother and Child Act of 2015 with the goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths globally by the year 2035.

The Reach Every Mother and Child Act (S.1911) is a bold, bipartisan policy initiative supported by more than 20 diverse NGOs that range from faith-based groups such as World Vision, to leading implementing agencies such as PATH, CARE, and Save the Children, alongside the American Academy of Pediatrics, and anti-poverty grassroots advocacy organizations like RESULTS. This transformative legislation can dramatically accelerate the reduction of preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths worldwide – helping achieve the U.S. commitment of ending these deaths in a generation!

Members of the MNCH Roundtable are hosting a Mom and Me (or Parent and Me) "Hill Drop" of paper dolls linked up to each Senator to show support from the community and from every day activists for this important bill. That's right! We're "Linking Up" to #SaveMomsandKids!

New to this??? A Hill Drop will consist of knocking on doors to deliver a specially made paper doll chain for each member of the Senate to let offices know why we support a bill that aims to #SaveMomsandKids. Super easy!

SIGN UP BELOW TO JOIN US WEDNESDAY, August 5th at 9:00am - 11:00 on Capitol Hill to take the message of ending preventable child and maternal deaths along with paper doll chains to the Senate! We have a 100 offices to cover, so need lots of moms and kids to volunteer to visit offices!

9:00am - Meet at United Methodist Building on 100 Maryland Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC to divide into Hill groups, go over talking points and prep for how to go into offices
9:30am - Group picture in front of the Capitol with full group
10:00am - Start knocking on doors and delivering the message to #SaveMomsandKids and get Senate co-sponsors for the Reach Act!
