Geosektionen är en fristående professionsförening med nära samarbete med fackförbundet Naturvetarna. Geosektionens medlemmar ska ha geovetenskaplig utbildning och/eller arbetsuppgifter inom den geovetenskapliga sektorn. Vi representerar yrken inom exempelvis Geologi, Geografi, Meteorologi, Oceanografi, GIS, Seismologi, Geodesi, Hydrologi, Geoteknik och Geofysik. Medlemskap i sektionen erbjuds via Naturvetarna genom länken ovan, men är även öppet för icke fackligt anslutna samt för personer som är medlemmar i andra fackförbund.

Som medlem i Geosektionen stödjer man bla. Geosektionens arbete med att verka för professionen, skapa kontaktytor mellan universitetsstudenter och arbetsmarknaden och att lyfta fram geovetenskapliga frågor i samhället. Därtill får man som medlem i Geosektionen genom det nya avtalet med Naturvetarna tillgång till den certifierade yrkestiteln European Geologist (EurGeol) som utfärdas av European Federation of Geologists (EFG).

Geosektionen is an independent professional association with close cooperation with the trade union Naturvetarna. We represent professions such as Geology, Geography, Meteorology, Oceanography, GIS, Seismology, Geodesy, Hydrology, Geotechnics and Geophysics. Members of Geosektionen are expected to have geoscientific education and/or occupation within the geoscience sector. Membership in Geosektionen is offered through Naturvetarna via the link above, but is also open to non-members of the trade union and to people who are members of other unions.


As a member of Geosektionen, you support the Geosektionens work e.g. to promote the geoscience profession, create contact surfaces between university students and the labour market and to highlight the importance of geoscience for our society. In addition, through the new agreement with Naturvetarna dated April 2022, all members of Geosektionen are granted access to the certified professional title  European Geologist (EurGeol) issued by  the European Federation of Geologists (EFG).
