WSHS Chess to Progress Fundraiser Tournament Pre-Registration - May 25, 2024
  • West Salem High School is glad to present our first fundraiser chess tournament, Chess to Progress, in the Salem-Keizer area! The goal of this tournament is to progress the broader Salem-Keizer community of chess players, while also progressing our community by facing the problems that need to be addressed. This chess tournament will double as a fundraiser and donation drive for the homeless inneed; we will gladly accept a variety of donations that double as your entry fee. All tournament proceeds from entry fees and additional on-site purchases will go towards a donation fund, which will be split evenly between our chess club and various organizations to benefit the Salem-Keizer homeless. All non-cash donations will be given to organizations dedicated to helping the Salem-Keizer homeless such as Union Gospel Mission or placed into care baskets that will be distributed to Salem's homeless population. This will be a casual, non-rated tournament with food, drinks, prizes, and fun! Spread the word and bring a donation & friend to play some chess!
