of injury.
Muscle pull, muscle tear, strain, joint pain, broken bones, head injury and other more serious injuries
are unlikely but still possible. Bruising, fabric burn (on some apparatus), muscle soreness/fatigue is likely
but can be prevented. The risk of injury cannot be entirely eliminated, members/parents must be aware
of the risk before attending lessons. Injuries are minimal when students listen to all directions and
follow instructions. It is vital all students follow the class plan/instructor’s guidance to lower risk of
injury. Instructors are well trained, while the hall is well equipped with specialist aerial equipment and
rigging, with safety mats under all aerial equipment.
Aerial Arts Dorset/their instructors will not be liable if students injure themselves. Any injuries or
incidents occurred during the classes are in no way the fault or the responsibility of Aerial Arts Dorset or
the Instructor.
If in the case of an injury, students are asked to seek advice from their Instructor who will be a qualified
and professional First Aider. If you've fallen/experience sudden pain, please stay still and alert an
instructor in order for them to assist you. If in the rare occasion of a student injuring themselves, it's the
instructor’s duty and priority to ensure the welfare of the injured and the students in the class.
Therefore, policies are in place to ensure instructors direct the rest of the class to safely practice skills
they're confident in performing without guidance if/where possible, while the instructor administers
first aid. Aerial Arts Dorset thanks students for their understanding in prioritising the injury/situation at
hand.
Ensure you arrive on time to complete the whole warm-up and stay throughout the entire session to
attend the cool down. Those who are late are not permitted to join the lesson, unless the instructor is
able to facilitate your late entry with a maximum of 5 minutes as per Aerial Arts Dorset 5 Minute Late
policy. Please respect our instructors - all members are expected to respect our instructors authority
within lessons to maximise safety.
