Arizona Department of Education, in partnership with AHCCCS, is committed to helping school personnel and other adults who interact with school-aged youth detect and respond to mental health issues.

What is Youth Mental Health First Aid? (https://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/bethedifference/)
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to adolescents (ages 12-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. The training can be broken up into two days (4-hours each) if needed.

It is expected that the capacity will be met which is 30 seats. If you would like a host a training for more than 30 people, please contact: Lindsay Walker at lindsay.walker@azed.gov

Training is 8 hours of instruction time. Please be aware prior to your request.
