Cooking for Kids (Mme Marques & Mrs. Barr - Act Rm Kitchen) If you like to cook or bake, or would like to learn some basic recipes to treat your family, come and join us in the kitchen! Menu may include: pizza, pizelles with ice cream and toppings, scones, smoothies, tacos, omelettes, waffles, biscuits, cookies, brownies. * Max: 12
Chemistry (Ms. Kintzinger - Mr. Boersma's Rm) Are you intrigued by chemistry? Come and blow things up! * Max: 15
Playground Games (Mr. Mac - outside playground) You are invited to participate in a variety of fun and social playground games. Games will be activities that students can teach to their friends and use during school breaks. Running shoes and athletic clothing should be worn. ** On rainy days directed drawing will be done in Mr. MacPherson's room. Max: 20
Technology Leadership (Mme Tobin - Ogopogo Lab) Do you like iPads and young kids? If so then this is the group for you. During our time together we will: *service the GME latops * create mini app tutorials * learn to teach * work with iPads in primary classrooms Max: 20
Learn To Sew (Mme van Oyen - vO's portable) This is a beginner class for students who have not had any sewing experience and who want to learn the basics of how to sew using a sewing machine. We will learn to make drawstring bags to start and go from there. Max: 12
Building Land (M Costa - Costa's classroom) You will use various materials (legos, wood, recycling material, cardboard, newspapers, blocks) to build machines and structures in order to achieve a specific goal. For example, you will use newspapers to build the highest free-standing structure. All materials will be provided. Max: 16
Flag Football (M Fafard - outside field) Five person flag football, basic rules, positions. How to play defense and offense. Max: 30
Transformative Big Art (Mme Briggs & Mme Terai - Mr. Mac's classroom) You are invited to help design BIG art for common spaces in our school to transform our boring spaces into beautiful and meaningful ones. Sketch books, pencils and colours are provided. Unlimited
Creative Writing (Ms. Robertson - Library) Step into a story and be taken on a journey into another dimension. A place where you come to know characters intimately. A world so amazing and wonderful you feel as if you are a part of it. Come. Create your own story. Max: 12
Fun Food in a Flash (Mrs. MacArthur - Indigenous Welcoming Room) Come and learn delicious plant-based recipes that are quick, healthy and tastey! Menu will likely include: brownies, energy balls, "ice cream", smoothies, yam fries, soup & salad. Max: 8
Colouring (Ms. Beekman - Fafard) Come relax to peaceful music and colour. Max: 12
Basketball (Mr. Obst & Mr. Boersma - gym) Learn the basics of basketball. Dribbling, passing, shooting, and 4 vs 4 games. No experience necessary, just bring your positive attitude! Unlimited
Service with a Smile (DQ Daniel - ) Come and learn about customer service, how to get a job and much more. This will be a fun and interactive course! Max: 12
Travelling "Animal" (Ms. Royea & Mrs. Onysko - Mrs. Barr's classroom) Make a stuffed animal and bring it with you on a trip. The idea is to make the stuffie and then have the stuffie travel. You can travel and take photos with your stuffie but are also encouraged to send your stuffie on trips with friends. The idea is to keep the animal traveling and to photograph the journeys. So fun! Max: 15
Fun Math (Mr. Sessa) Come out and learn fun math with Mr. Sessa. Max: 12
Orff Instruments (Mme Draper) Max: 15
Coding & Robots (Mr. Gazel) Learn to code with different programs such as Scratch, Tynker, Hopscotch and Cargo Bot on laptops and Ipads. We will also have a chance to work with some Sphero Robots and Lightning Labs. No experience required. Max: 15
Origami (Mrs. Middleton) Let the folding begin! Come and learn the ancient Japanese art of Origami with Mrs. Middleton! We will be using special Origami paper and will start easy and work our way to amazing, intricate, creations. Max: 12
Music (Mr. Reiben) Jam session. Bring your instrument and jam with Mr. Reiben in his portable. Max: 10-12
Create An Art Journal (Buehner) Explore with mixed media (paint, pens, crayons, pastels, collage, etc.) to creat your own front and back cover. Unique pages will complete the inner pages of the project. Max: 10
