A View to Asia Entry Form
A View to Asia is an exhibition of sculpture and installations held on the Cable Beach foreshore reserve, between the Broome Surf Club and the Cable Beach Amphitheatre.

Cable Beach, which takes its name from a physical communications link to Asia, will become the stage for artists' 3 dimensional interpretation of Broome's multiculturalism and our links to Asia. The exhibition will run from Saturday 10 September until Sunday 18 September 2016.

Official Launch of the Exhibition will be held on Tuesday 13 September where the winners will be announced. The People’s Choice Award will be announced during the Festival Finale on Sunday 18 September.

CRITERIA FOR ART ENTRIES
1. A View to Asia Sculptural Exhibition and Awards is open to all artists.
2. All entries must be the original work of the artist.
3. An agent may enter on behalf of an artist and receive any award, provided that there is evidence of agency and artist engagement.
4. Artists should attempt to interpret the Vision of A View to Asia through their work. (Vision is listed below)
5. The entry fee is $50 including GST per entry/artwork and is non-refundable.
6. Artists can enter more than one piece. In the event there are more entries than there is space to exhibit, Shinju Matsuri reserves the right to not display all pieces. The entry amount for any work not displayed will be refunded.
7. All work must be suitably presented for display and satisfy the Shire Engineer that they are safely installed for the period of the exhibition.
8. All entries must be declared through a completed online entry form and must be for sale. The final Retail Sale Price will be set by Shinju Matsuri Inc. to include a 20% Commission to Shinju Matsuri Inc., + GST.
9. If the sculpture does not sell during the exhibition the artist agrees to pay Shinju Matsuri a 20% commission on the sale price of the sculpture if it sells within 3 months of the last day of the exhibition.
10. All care will be taken with the works, however Shinju Matsuri Inc. is not responsible for damage or loss. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
11. The artist acknowledges the right of the organisers to take photographs of exhibits for reproduction or publicity purposes of Shinju Matsuri and or A View to Asia
12. Works may not be removed from the exhibition until the end of the advertised exhibition period.
13. All works must be durable to withstand the natural elements of the Cable Beach Reserve. The reserve reticulation system will remain on during the event so installations will get wet.
14. Any lighting must be self-contained via solar or battery power.
15. All entries are to arrive free of freight costs and return the same way. Shinju Matsuri Inc. is not responsible for any delivery or return freight charges.
16. Shinju Matsuri Inc. reserves the right to not accept any entry it deems to be inappropriate.
17. Late entries will not be accepted.
18. The judge’s decision of the winning entries is final.
19. In the event of a dispute regarding the interpretation of conditions, the decision of Shinju Matsuri Inc. is final.
