Welcome to Schulich Ignite! These weekly sessions are a fun way to learn the fundamentals of coding or object-oriented programming with lots of hands-on experience. All students are grouped with a mentor who can help you through your learning experience and give you general advice as a university student as well. You will also have the chance to make new friends as you will be in groups of 3-7 students. Complete the workshops successfully, and you'll receive a certificate of completion! Plus, there are chances to win prizes throughout the 8 weeks!
1. Ignite Beginner (Online)
Location: Zoom
Schedule: Saturdays, 12 pm - 1:30 pm MST
Dates: February 15, 2025 - April 5, 2025 (Tentative)
A beginner-friendly session introducing coding in Python. No prior experience is required! You’ll learn about variables, logical operators, loops, and functions.
2. Ignite Flare (Advanced Online Session)
Location: Zoom
Schedule: Wednesdays, 6 pm - 7:30 pm MST
Dates:
February 12, 2025 - April 2, 2025 (Tentative)
Dive deeper into Python with object-oriented programming by creating a game with the guidance of mentors and the session lead. Prior coding experience and understanding of basic programming concepts are necessary.
In addition to the regular weekly sessions, each workshop will have an introductory class February 8th.
