Dream Project invites high school juniors and seniors to come to the UW campus for one intensive weekend of college application work. Admissions Workshop Weekend (AWW) is the Dream Project’s largest event of the academic year-- around 1,000 high school students hailing from the greater Puget Sound area participate during the two-day event. Students may arrive at AWW at any point in their college application process, be it their final draft or nothing at all. We aim to provide a productive, encouraging environment and a myriad of resources so each student may achieve their best. Dream Project mentors, college admissions counselors, college representatives, and writing tutors (you!) will all be present to assist students as they consider and complete college applications.
As a volunteer, you will be helping our students as a writing tutor. They will be working on personal statements, resumes, and other college application essays. If you have other special areas of expertise, we might call on you to answer specific student questions. We ask that you come with an open mind and positive attitude, and we thank you so much for taking your time to help these students reach their post-secondary goals.
