The World Language Department at Fox Chapel Area High School, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh, invites language teachers and graduate students from all levels of instruction to submit proposals for Pittsburgh's World Language Connection Conference. Proposals may include workshops, presentations, and/or demonstrations, and should be planned for a 60-minute time slot. The conference will take place at Fox Chapel Area High School from 9:00am - 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. This conference is attended primarily by World Language teachers of all grade levels (K-12).
This year's theme is "Classroom Connections."
We are currently seeking presentations for workshop sessions related but not limited to:
1. Innovative instructional methodology2. Techniques to improve fluency3. Proficiency-based instruction and learning4. Whole language classroom5. Promoting active use of the target language6. Innovative instructional technology7. Use of assessment data to drive instruction8. Making your class more global9. Talking effectively with administrators about internationalizing your educational program
In the application below we will ask you to identify your session as either "introductory" or "advanced." Please consider submitting two different applications if you plan on facilitating separate introductory and advanced workshops. Sessions may target one specific language, or second-language teaching more generally.

Session Proposal Deadline: October 2, 2017. Session availability is limited. Proposals will be evaluated in the order received.
