Pittsburgh's World Language Connection Conference: Classroom Connections Fox Chapel Area High School Tuesday, November 7, 2017

The World Language Department at Fox Chapel Area High School, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh, invites language teachers and graduate students from all levels of instruction to submit proposals for Pittsburgh's World Language Connection Conference. Proposals may include workshops, presentations, and/or demonstrations, and should be planned for a 60-minute time slot. The conference will take place at Fox Chapel Area High School from 9:00am - 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. This conference is attended primarily by World Language teachers of all grade levels (K-12).

This year's theme is "Classroom Connections."

We are currently seeking presentations for workshop sessions related but not limited to:

1. Innovative instructional methodology
2. Techniques to improve fluency
3. Proficiency-based instruction and learning
4. Whole language classroom
5. Promoting active use of the target language
6. Innovative instructional technology
7. Use of assessment data to drive instruction
8. Making your class more global
9. Talking effectively with administrators about internationalizing your educational program

In the application below we will ask you to identify your session as either "introductory" or "advanced." Please consider submitting two different applications if you plan on facilitating separate introductory and advanced workshops. Sessions may target one specific language, or second-language teaching more generally.

Why become a presenter?
• It’s a great opportunity to share with colleagues!
• Resume-builder
• You don’t have to pay the conference fee!

You don't have to present alone! Groups of up to 4 are welcome.

Session Proposal Deadline: October 2, 2017. Session availability is limited. Proposals will be evaluated in the order received.
