The New Year is a powerful time to check in with yourself and reassess where you want to be. All too often, though, the idea of New Year’s resolutions leave people feeling frustrated and hopeless—maybe you start the year with strong intentions but that resolve wears away and is lost by the time the gray days of February unfold. Maybe you’ve listed the same New Year's resolutions year after year with no progress and can’t help but wonder, “Why bother?” You SHOULD bother—because you’re worth it. This informal, interactive workshop led by novelist and teacher Katrina Kittle offers 10 simple tips and exercises to help you focus your resolution and relight your fire. We’ll be more “strategic” about our resolutions, and will revive and refine our dreams so that they’re easier to capture. We’ll focus on pitfalls that may have trapped us (like being too vague about what we want and telling ourselves self-limiting fictions) as well as tips for keeping our promises to ourselves (like making our resolutions nonnegotiable, and one of THE MOST IMPORTANT: treating ourselves kindly). We have the opportunity to change and grow until our very last breath—let’s harness the energy of the New Year to not only keep our dreams strong and limber, but keep our soul fires blazing through the entire new year.
