Join us as we review the basics of the Christian faith and the tenets of Lutheran Christianity. Also, our Adult New Member Class is offered to anyone in high school or older once each quarter. Everyone interested in becoming a member of Faith Lutheran Church is encouraged to take this class. It is also open to members and guests. It is really a great refresher course!

The book of Psalms, a collection of 150 hymns, expresses the whole range of emotions which God's people experience in this life. We have psalms of praise, thanksgiving, repentance, forgiveness, history, doctrine. But the most important topic is the portrait of Christ presented in the Messianic psalms. We will study a number of psalms in each category and do some singing, too! Bring your Bible and a friend and join us for an in-depth time of study and fellowship.

This course will examine what took place between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament.  How did God use those 400 years to prepare the world for the birth of Christ?  Topics to be covered are: 1. How did the Old Testament set the stage for the New Testament?  2. Who were the 12 tribes of Israel?  3. What role did Alexander the Great play?  4. Who were the Maccabees?  5. Who were the Helenizers, Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes?  Examining the Intertestamental Period will increase your understanding of both the Old and New Testaments and will lead you to find out how the world was made ready for the greatest event of all time - the coming of the Messiah.

The event: a beauty contest. The plot: save a nation from annihilation

God's presence surrounds Esther throughout the entirety of her narrative. While God's name is never stated, you can easily tell how God is working and weaving His plan to fruition through Esther. His presence, even in his seeming absence, is clear.

The same is true for your life: God is always present with you, even when you feel He is absent. Just because God seems hidden does not mean He is absent, but rather, that He is working faithfully behind the scenes. He never abandons His creation, and He works diligently through you to propel His plan forward.

In this study, see that God's presence is ever-abundant in your life, and that God gives you the courage to live fearlessly as Esther did. Learn the historical context of the Book of Esther to enrich your understanding of God's Word. Questions are included in each chapter to allow for reflection on your readings as you work through the study and discuss your answers with the other women in the class.
