HOMEGROWN APOTHECARY APPRENTICESHIP APPLICATION
LEARN HOW TO GROW, CULTIVATE, HARVEST, AND PROCESS MEDICINAL HERBS. STOCK YOUR HOME APOTHECARY WITH A MYRIAD OF HERBAL REMEDIES
We will cover:
- Propagation Techniques including growing from seed, stem propagation, root division, transplanting
- Requirements for plants (sun, water, spacing, maintenance)
- Weeding techniques (sheet mulching, tools for cultivation, occultation, solarization, cover crops)
- Harvesting and drying techniques and methods
- Basic herbal preparations (tinctures, glycerin extracts, tea blends, oxymels, syrups, infused honey, pastilles, salves)
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work at the farm for 1 hour during each session (hands-on learning through a variety of tasks including planting, weeding, watering, mulching, and harvesting) Must be willing to work in various weather conditions
- Come with a positive attitude and willing to be a part of an intimate and inclusive herbal community
- Commit to all sessions
- Must have transportation
-Bring required supplies each session (jars, supplies for tinctures, oxymels, and oil infusions (vodka, vinegar, olive oil)
