The Freshman Founders Program offers first-year entrepreneurial-minded students instant immersion into the UT and Austin startup community. As a Freshman Founder, you will have access to some of the most successful entrepreneurs in Austin, and learn about the resources on campus that can help you join or start a startup.
Depending on your interests, we encourage you to submit your application to one of our two tracks within Freshman Founders: Event Series or Launchpad.
The Event Series is for those who are interested in entrepreneurship, but aren't necessarily starting a company. This track features events designed for you to interact and develop relationships with Austin-based entrepreneurs. Upperclassmen student mentors from the Longhorn Entrepreneurship Agency will be resources for advice and for keeping you up to date on startup happenings in and around campus.
Ready to make it big and turn an idea into a company? Instead of getting their feet wet, students in the more intensive Launchpad track will dive right into the resources the university and Austin both offer to help them successfully launch a company. In addition to the events offered in the Event Series, this track consists of one-on-one mentorship with rising stars in the Austin startup community, as well as workshops tailored to each team’s specific needs. Apply as an individual whether you have an idea, handpicked team, revenue-generating company, or none of the above. Note: In-person interviews for Launchpad applicants will take place from September 16-21.
