Hello, it’s that time of year again! At least, it’s October which to me seems like the perfect time to launch Canyon Christmas 2025. In a way, Canyon Christmas 2025 is very similar to Canyon Christmas 2024 in that it’s an Our Flag Means Death Holiday Fanworks exchange. If you don't know, a fanworks exchange (or secret santa) is where you create a surprise gift for another member of the fandom based around prompts they have submitted, most commonly fic or art, in return you receive a gift from another member of the fandom and we all share joy and love.

I am making a few small changes from last year however, CC ‘25 is all about the Stocking Fillers, short sweet gifts to bring a little burst of joy - in much the same way a chocolate orange does, or a pair of socks. Think 500 word fics and cute little sketches. Of course, you are more than welcome to create something bigger should the muse hit you but don’t feel obliged, as long as you’re proud of what you produce, and would be happy to receive it as a gift, you’re golden.
The other big change is on my end, last year there were check-ins, multiple platforms of communication, and a match sheet that looked a little like a crime scene board. It was fun, but it took me time, and unfortunately I don’t have that time to spare this year so I’m being a little more hands off. I’ll take your responses to this form, your good word as a pirate that you’ll partake now you’ve signed up, I’ll talk to you over bluesky and be far less stringent with matches. I hope you’re cool with that.
As with last year there’s only really one rule, don’t be a dick. This means that by signing up you agree to create a fanwork that matches the prompts sent to you and that you’ll have shared this work, in full, by the end of the posting period, either on ao3 or Bluesky or both. In return you’ll get a gift of your own that you will love and cherish and say thank you for!
Obviously, I understand that sometimes life gets in the way, so come chat to me if you suddenly can’t make the deadline or have any other questions.
