The Houston HBCU
Alumni Association, Inc. HHBCUAA is a non-profit 501 c (3) organization. It is
a consortium of local Houston
based Alumni of several Black colleges and universities. One of the major objectives of our
organization is to acquaint the public and prospective students with the value
of Historically Black Colleges and Universities as excellent sources of higher
education. To help us accomplish this
objective, our organization has elected to establish the Houston HBCU Alumni
Association, Inc. HHBCUAA Scholarship.
The Houston HBCU Alumni
Association, Inc. HHBCUAA Scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school
seniors in the Greater Houston Area planning to attend one of our member
schools. Review the criteria below to confirm
eligibility.
Scholarship Criteria
- Graduating
high school senior in the Greater Houston Area.
- Will enroll
in one of our member schools. (see
below for member schools)
- Minimum High
School GPA of 2.8.
- Display
extra-curricular & community involvement.
- Complete an
essay entitled: “Who Has Been Most Influential in Your Life and Why?”
Application Package
(We are not responsible if application is not completed.)
A complete application package should include:
- Completed
application form. Include a Headshot Photo of Applicant.
- Most Current High
School Transcript.
- Proof of application
or admission to a member school (see
below for member schools); Applications to member schools are
acceptable, but the award will not disperse until proof of admission has
been received.
- Essay: “Who
Has Been Most Influential in Your Life and Why?” (Essay must be 500 words, proofread, double-spaced, 12 pt.
font)
