2014 MLK Day of Service Sign-Up

Please read the description of sites being offered for MLK Day of Service and list your top three preferences. A Kinney coordinator will be contacting you by email before the event on Monday, January 20th.


Ronald McDonald House: Assist with housekeeping chores, operational tasks, etc.
Soulsville Charter School: Help with a neighborhood clean-up.
Choices: Assist with the Memphis Center for Reproductive Health by canvassing and assembling safe sex kits.
MIFA: Participate in meal-delivery routes in the Memphis community.
Planned Parenthood: Help with the Free Condoms Memphis Program by packing condom site deliveries, making individual condom packs, and cleaning up/organizing the delivery drop zone.
Exceptional Foundation: Help out with Exceptional Foundation, an area that works with individuals with special needs.
Rhodes Community Garden: Help with large garden tasks, such as assembling compost bins and building signs. (On-campus activity)
Caritas Village: Help out with the Caritas community center in the nearby Binghampton neighborhood.
FedEx House: Bake homemade cookies and bag them individually so families can take them to the hospital or have a late night snack. Students will also be given a tour of the facility.
LeBonheur: Make fortune tellers, play games, and interact with patients and families at LeBonheur.
Hope House: Assist the staff at Hope House day care center by cleaning up the playground, raking leaves, etc. Students will also get a tour of the center and learn more about the mission of Hope House.
New Hope Farm: Work on garden maintenance, building a compost area, and small construction projects for New Hope Farm!
