NOVICE: Aggregators Questionnaire
The International Energy Research Centre (IERC), located in Cork, Ireland, is coordinating NOVICE – New Buildings Energy Renovation Business Models incorporating dual energy services, a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (for more information you can visit
The purpose of this questionnaire is through engagement with Demand Side Response service providers to understand better the market structure and potential of a dual energy services scheme. This in reality would be an enhancement of your existing business model to include services typically provided by Energy Service Company (ESCO) and the associated revenue streams that attach to these.
As a Demand Side Response service provider, your company has unique insights into the energy consumption patterns of specific assets and into business as usual requirements from your clients. This could provide the basis for expanding your services portfolio with a range of additional services that normally fall into the portfolio of ESCOs.
Generally an ESCO would offer comprehensive energy solutions to its customers, including auditing, redesigning and implementing changes to the ways the customer consumes energy, the main goal being improved efficiency. Other possible services provided include energy infrastructure outsourcing, energy supply, financing and risk management
This revenue stream combined either through partnering or internally, with your own demand response revenue stream holds the potential to increase project viability, increase overall project revenue and accelerate your project pipeline
Please feel free to forward the link to this questionnaire to other DSR companies and experts.
