2019 NWHEL Conference Call For Proposals "Transitions: Life Stages, Careers, and Higher Education"
Nebraska Women in Higher Education Leadership (NWHEL) welcomes proposals for the Friday, October 18th, 2019 annual conference at Southeast Community College located in Lincoln, NE. The 2019 conference theme, inspired by the ever changing landscape of career opportunities in higher education, recognizes that women are especially impacted by the transitions constantly faced in personal, professional, and institutional lives. Accordingly, proposals for 60-minute programs intended to engage participants in discussion and presentations on the following areas are especially encouraged:
• TRACK 1: “Transitioning Age/ Life Stage” Topics (Starting Out, Work-Life Harmony, Self-care, etc. )
• TRACK 2: “Transitioning Inside/ Outside of Higher Education" (Rise of Alt-Ac Careers, Finding Opportunities, Deciding When to Leave/Stay, etc.)
• TRACK 3: “Transitioning Between Career Levels" (Mentoring/ Championing, Moving Forward, Building Professional Brands, etc.)
Appropriate program formats include individual speakers, panels, and interactive workshops.
