一年一度的校慶將在六月底舉辦.  北加州清華校友會有幸邀請(1)王大成博士 (2)史欽泰院長 (3)謝青院士 (4)吳正邦處長 (5)Cisco V.P. Larry Chang. 等多位嘉賓分享"連結/槓桿美洲與亞洲的高科技資源與需求".  對於身處於高科技環境的灣區校友, 相信是一場深具啓發性的盛會.

除演講討論之外, 清華校友在北加州的相聚是另外重要的目的. 校友會將為校友準備飲料茶水與食物. 請校友踴躍參加:

(1)Dr. Tacheng Chester Wang is the general partner and co-founder of Acorn Campus Ventures, a $115 million Incubator/venture fund and an active member of Life Science Angels.  Dr. Wang graduated from Tsinghua University in Taiwan and later got his Ph.D. in physics from University of Oregon.  He had co-chaired the New Realty Task Force with then Mayor Susan Hammer of San Jose, a city with over $1 billion annual budget and 6,000 employees, to re-engineering City’s budgeting and operation.  He currently serves on the board of Altigen Communication, Harvest Bioscience Company, Chinese Bible Society and on the Deans Advisory Board of UC Santa Cruz Engineering School and San Jose State University Business School.

(2)史 欽泰先生，普林斯頓電機博士，史丹佛大學MBA，前任清華大學科技管理學院院長、資訊工業策進會董事長及工業技術研究院特別顧問，為前任工研院院長。 1979年加入工研院行 列。秉持「專精、務實」的經營理念，使得30齡的工研院不僅滿足產業需求，同時躍身國際知名研究機構之林，推動成立創業育成中心與開放實驗室，將工研院寶 貴的知識科技與產業界做連結，將工研院帶到一個具有國際視野的研究機構。

(3)谢青院士, Fortinet 创始人、董事长、执行长
谢青先生﹐美国工程院院士﹐美国斯坦福大学电机工程硕士﹐清华大学电子工程系学士和硕士﹐1993 年在斯坦福大学就学期间创办了他的第一家软体网路安全公司 SIS﹐1996 创立了 NetScreen 他带领公司以 ASIC研发高性能的防火墙安全系统｡ NetScrren上市之后被 Juniper 以四十亿美金收购｡ 2000 年，谢青创立了 Fortinet﹐成为统一安全威胁管理(UTM) 的先锋｡ Fortinet多年一直保持UTM市场的领军者﹐于2009年十一月上市（NASDAQ:FTNT）﹐被评为”2009 最佳上市公司”﹐目前市值约30亿美元﹐连续保持当今中国大陆留学生海外创办和领导的最大市值公司地位｡
         谢青被时代杂志和世界经济论坛命名为技术先锋﹐Ernst & Young 评为年度最佳企业家｡他同时还被企业家杂志表彰为排名前五位的优秀企业家﹐并被福布斯认定为商业领域中最有影响力排名前二十五名的美籍华人｡ 谢青现为美国百人会的会员﹐Telenav(NASDAQ:TNAV) 和华源科协董事

(4)James Wu(吳正邦) joined Synopsys in 2007 and is currently the Director of Strategic Marketing for the Solutions Group. In that capacity, James is responsible for driving the strategic business analysis, semiconductor trend analysis and worldwide market-segment based IP roadshow initiative for the IP business. James has been in the semiconductor industry for over 29 years and has held engineering and director-level marketing positions throughout his career. Prior to joining Synopsys, James was the Deputy Director of the Design Technology Marketing at TSMC and before that was the Director of Strategic Marketing at eSilicon and Cadence. James holds a BSEE from National Tsing-Hua University in Taiwan and a MSEE from The Ohio State University.

(5) Larry Chang is the Vice President of Engineering in the High End Routing and Optical Group at Cisco Systems, co-leading and responsible for the overall engineering development of Cisco high end routing and optical platforms used by Telcos and Internet service providers.
Larry joined Cisco Systems in 1996. He contributed to various market leading router products. In 1999, Larry was the Software Development Manager in charge of all WAN interfaces on the Cisco 7200 and 7500 platform.  Later Larry was the Director of Engineering responsible for the software development on the Cisco 7600 platform and pioneered the Carrier Ethernet technology on Internet edge routers. In 2006, Larry set out to build a next gen edge platform, led the ASR9000 development from its inception and grew it into a multi-billion dollar business.
Before Larry’s career at Cisco, he had worked at Ericsson and Symmetricom. Larry holds a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Tsinghua University, Taiwan and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
