Diagrams, Systems, Collective Power Workshop

Diagrams, Systems, Collective Power Workshop Series
Chicago Art Department
1926 s. Halsted
Mondays, 6:30pm - 9:00pm

Workshop Description
How do communities understand power relations? Are there specific interventions we can create that describe and challenge the systems that structure our understanding of power, meaning, value, and history? What does it mean to create a collective diagram? Artists, designers, and creative practitioners in all career stages (including undergraduate and graduate students) are invited to this 4 - week workshop series exploring diagrammatic forms and their ability to shape social narratives, critique power relations, and re-imagine how a speculative system might work. Creative outputs from the workshop series will be archived and published as an artbook for the Diagrams, Systems, Collective Power exhibition, this coming September at the Chicago Art Dept.

May 19 - Archeology of Diagrams
May 26 - Power Mapping
June 02 - Speculative Systems
June 16 - Production Studio
