Host a GNI India Training Network Training

The GNI India Training Network is an initiative led by DataLEADS to provide digital training and upskilling opportunities to journalists, fact-checkers, and media educators across India.

Training Modules

The Network’s training modules, developed by Indian and global experts, are adapted to local needs and accessible in 15 Indian languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Konkani, Kashmiri, Tamil, Telugu, Bangla, Marathi, Kannada Punjabi, Assamese, Gujarati, Odia, and Malayalam. 

Currently, we provide the following training sessions in newsrooms, press clubs, and media institutes:

Digital Investigation and Online Verification: Learn tools and strategies for fact-checking and verifying claims, images, and videos. Stay updated with the latest techniques on open source intelligence (OSINT) resources.

Mapping Tools for Journalists: Learn the Basics of Mapping, Geolocation, Visual Storytelling using Google Maps and Google Earth Studio, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Mapping. 

Electoral Data Interpretation: Explore the essence of electoral data in India and grasp the fundamentals of data collection, interpretation, verification, and visualization.

Data Verification: Understanding data can be challenging, which is why we provide a concise guide to help you accurately and clearly report data and verify statistics and claims.

Audio Verification: Learn about audio verification and the techniques to identify digitally-altered audios.    

Visual Content Verification: Learn the fundamentals of fact checking and verification. The training will provide approaches to verify images and videos and essential tools like Google Search, Google Lens, InVID, etc., to research with precision.

Climate Change Verification: Familiarize yourself with essential tools and skills to debunk unscientific and bogus claims related to climate change.

Day of Data: Learn to craft in-depth and insightful stories by harnessing the power of data through hands-on workshops on topics such as Data Collection, Data Cleaning, Data Visualization, and Data Verification. Please note this training is available exclusively for newsrooms.
