We consider variables such as cost, series, and competing publications when designing a book’s cover and therefore advise authors not to become too attached to a single cover concept. All cover designs are internally vetted and approved by the acquisitions and marketing departments, the director, and the production manager before being shared with you. Although your suggestions will be used as a starting point in the design process, the press has final approval of all cover designs.
