Now lets get into the nitty gritty of what so many people struggle with and what can put a strain on a marriage.

What is your monthly Debt to Income Ratio (DTI)?  To calculate your DTI add up all of your monthly minimum debt (credit cards and loans) payments including rent or mortgage and divide it by your monthly income and multiply by 100.   (ex. $500 in monthly debt payments divided by $4000 in monthly income multiplied by 100 = 12.5% DTI or (500/4000)x100=12.5)
