QAE Hour of Code Volunteer Sign-Up
We need volunteers for the QAE Hour of Code on December 7th! Please volunteer to help the kids in their classrooms or to bring snacks for other volunteers & teachers.

What is Hour of Code?
On December 7th from 8:30-12:30, every student at QAE will get the opportunity to spend one hour on a fun (Star Wars! Minecraft! Music!) introduction to computer programming. Students will use simple visual tools on the code.org website to write software that makes characters do fun things. We need volunteers to guide the students and answer their questions - NO CODING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

The more volunteers we have, the better this experience will be for the kids - Last year the QAE community pulled out all the stops and we had nearly 60 volunteers, including a lot of folks recruited from outside the QAE community!

I want to help kids in the classroom!
Awesome! We'll be rotating through classrooms from 8:30-12:30 on December 7th.
I want to bring snacks or drinks!
Awesome! We'll be in touch later to see what you'd like to bring. We'll ask you to drop off food in the morning.
I want to help in some other way!
Awesome! We'll contact you to help with planning.
Any classroom requests?
Let us know if you want to be matched with (or avoid) a particular class - we'll make our best effort!
Your answer
How would you rate your coding ability?
For in-class volunteers, we'll try to mix parent skill levels in the classroom. No experience is necessary.
