With just weeks until the European Parliamentary elections, there has understandably been an intensified effort on the part of traditional media outlets, researchers, NGOs, and fact-checking institutions to monitor and report on any potential information campaigns that could influence the outcome of the EU elections or the perception of the bloc's unity more broadly.
To aid this work, AI Forensics, AFP and the University of Amsterdam will be holding a two day hybrid workshop on the 6th and 7th of June, that will take a form of a ‘verification sprint’ in which participants will be tasked with finding and verifying AI generated content portraying the European Union as a corrupted, lethargic or otherwise weak institution.
The workshop is funded and supported by the vera.ai project. Vera.ai is a research and development EU project focusing on disinformation analysis and AI supported verification tools and services.
