In the Marshall-Shadeland area of Pittsburgh's North Side exists a trusted community organization that has been working to strengthen families and enrich lives for more than two decades. Providence Connections is entering its 23rd year of providing family support, in-home visitations, childcare, education, before and after school care, and nutrition programming to low-income, high-risk families. These high-impact programs help parents and children develop skills and strategies to nurture a functioning home environment in which they can learn, grow, and succeed together.
Providence Connections strengthens families and enriches lives through comprehensive educational and developmental opportunities for parents and children in the North Side of Pittsburgh, serving over 400 local families. We need your help to further our mission by bringing our friend-raising, fundraising, and awareness to the next level!
The Friends of Providence is a newly created philanthropic friend and fundraising group geared towards Pittsburgh young professionals who want to make a difference in the Northside through volunteering their time and expertise to families in crisis at Providence Connections. The FPC is charged with creating a community of rising leaders in support of advancing the North Side and the families we serve.
Over the course of the year, this group of volunteers holds a variety of fundraising and recruitment activities, led by the FPC Executive Committee.
The mission of The Friends of Providence Committee(FPC) is to fundraise for Providence Connections and to engage in community outreach within the greater Pittsburgh community, with a highlight on The Northside and the families Providence Connections serves. The FPC provide support and guidance based on their specific areas of interest and expertise, while advancing the overall mission of Providence Connections, to strengthen families and enrich lives.
