The Housing for All Legislative Table
In 2019, we introduced the Housing For All agenda on Beacon Hill — a set of bills enabling tenant protections, housing production near transit, new progressive revenues, and big public investments in social housing and Housing First programs. When the pandemic struck, our focus necessarily shifted to eviction and foreclosure prevention and distribution of rental assistance and ARPA funds. Now, with the housing emergency more acute than ever, Rep. Connolly's State House office is establishing this table to coordinate strategy and engage advocates, organizers, and local officials in the legislative process.

The table will organize convenings in two main areas: 1) refiling the Tenant Protection Act to lift the statewide ban on local rent control, and 2) advancing the vision of Housing For All in Massachusetts, starting with a push for the legislature to take up a comprehensive/omnibus housing bill in the new year.

The first convening of the table was on Tuesday, January 31st . Subsequent convenings will be planned as needed, about once a month. We will work to ensure these meetings are informative, constructive, and action-oriented.
